What it is is the Hood River beer that you and your fellow Portlanders have been going gaga over during these last three years.
For a while, you could only find Double Mountain’s India Red Ales on tap. But last year, the brewers started bottling it.
And this fall, we started serving it.
Think of this IRA as a cross between an Irish Red and an IPA—it’s nutty, malty, hoppy and pours all copper kettle red.
And it’s strong (6.5 percent ABV).
And big (they’re bottled as Imperial Pints).
So say hello to your not so little friend, Smoked Meat Eaters, and your new favorite autumn beer.
