SMOKEHOUSE 21’s WINE: DOLLAR BILLS ONLY

If you’ve stopped by in the last five months, you know that we’re a No-Jacket-Required lunch and dinner spot that serves up varieties of smoked pig, beef, fish and chicken.

If so, that also means you know that we pride ourselves on our Craft Beer menu, and that all our beer is canned beer, and that each can is presented to you, with a little coup de maître, in a Koozie.

But we serve wine, too, by the glass and, if you’re looking to impress your date (and you are, right?), by the bottle.

Of the eight wines that comprise our wine list, we’re particularly fond of our Pinot Noir (“Dollar Bills Only,” bottled by Patricia Green Cellars in nearby Dundee.)

The DBO is a casual, quality, everyday Pinot that is both big and bold, without being a bully.

Zesty, fruity (cherries? blackberries?) with an easy, somewhat smokey, finish, the DBO pairs quite nicely with our Smoked Idaho Trout or our Baby Back Lamb Ribs.

And because it’s not too acidic, it compliments our four housemade, tangy, Texan-and-Carolina-style sauces.

Of course, it pairs best as a way to start off a proper date. So let us discreetly be your wing(wo)man, and uncork one for you.
